Her Dark Days
Here dark days take
With thick full fists
Mercilessly pulling inward
With a firm grasp
Their shadows envelop
With sticky fullness
Able to crush with each attempt to inhale
What is lost
What is always lost
Those are the bright smiles
And yesterday's caress
Dark nights and her days
Are indistinguishable
And lurking in every corner
Are cries of regret
Of lives not lived
And the past undone
Her dark days are all
And one
With only the smallest push
She floats upward
Weightless Silent
And cold
Nothing waits
in her cave of selfish intent
Here her dark days
Have muddled the truth
And cover her
In blankets where she can hide
Where her dark days thrive
