:) check out this article for the latest attempt to start conversation in the church.
I showed the photo to my mom and she was absolutely horrified and distraught that I was laughing so hard. So maybe that was not the right person to share my personal reaction with, but I am really interested in the church and its portrayal of Mary through the ages so why not make her relevant? Am I wrong to think that?
Dressed with a blue veil, pale skin and light hair she is still the iconic Mary image but the 'pink stick' is a reminder of her human side. Granted I am not sure there are that many (speaking as a naive protestant) who still hold that she was always a virgin, but she is still an unobtainable church icon. I find it really helpful to see how very much the people in the bible are like us... the other saints as well. We may find specific actions they did admirable but they had bad days too.
Well, that's my thought. Hope you enjoy.

death beds regrets
Top Five Regrets
My grandpa died this week. I lost both of them in under six months. They were both really sick and did not speak much near the end, I do not know if they held any regrets in life or in the hours close to their deaths. I know they felt a lot of pain and we did alongside them hardly knowing if we should pray for it all to be over or for some kind of recovery.
But death happens. It is supposed to and it is a perfect reminder of living in present, for what you have. On the way to work last Friday I was listening to the radio and they mentioned the above link. I am hoping to take some of its lessons to heart.
you know what is so funny about reading these... that we have known them all along
I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
I wish I didn’t work so hard.
I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
I wish that I had let myself be happier.

meant to post... um months ago
So I have moved, and all my books are still in boxes.
I have been secretly reading articles on line while I am at work (when there are no customers of course!) and have found a large discussion on the religion section of cnn.com. Thinking maybe I will post some of those articles here.
For example:
http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011/08/21/can-the-burgeoning-christian-crusade-against-pornography-bear-fruit/?hpt=hp_c2
We can start with this article: Can the Christian Crusade against Pornography Bear Fruit?
I want to talk about this one... I will see if I can get it circulating

regrets
this week i got dumped
best part ... i never met him, that is correct, once again i looked online for something safe or ridiculous
and i got involved with the wrong person (times like 100 percent) and finally learned what it feels like to be completely cut off without warning. we had agreed after the first couple weeks to stop talking having both agreed that this was not a good idea (because among the obvious meeting him online for no other purpose than to play around at work he also happened to be completely unavailable, no really good job me, way to be exactly what you always said you would not be). but each time i would get a text two days later saying that it would not work and we could just be friends
ah yes, all the advise i have ever given has come back to haunt me and i am left wondering how anyone can know right from wrong or have willpower to do anything but choose based on emotions
so my grandpa passed away on Saturday and this guy (we shall call him Javier) talked me through the whole thing like a friend... with a hidden agenda... and I let him because I was so upset and did not want to ask for help from the real people in my life who could have actually helped
i regret being a fool and thinking i was better than anyone else
i regret not being truthful from the beginning to this guy, to my friends and to myself for learning to replace one addiction with another
i regret wishing him ill will and acting like a small child who did not care who she hurt as long as she got her way
i am full of regret and full of heart ache and know full well that I caused it

Rainy Wednesday
There are days I feel completely alone and I blame it completely on technology. I have become so used to instantaneously communication that when my email or text is (presumably ignored but more likely not someone's priority, rightfully so) not immediately answered I become completely consumed with the idea that I am unwanted. Granted, this week my vulnerability may have something to do with my second grandfather's passing (two in six months), my starting a new job the day of his wake, the rain, my period, and prolonged exposure to my immediate family ... anyway.
On the way to the church yesterday morning my dad and I were in the car talking and he brought up the fact that I live too much in my head. That I spend so much time worrying about what others will think, whether its trying to please someone by moving closer or not choosing to partake in a specific activity because of how others will view it. He explained how he thought it was really holding me back from being able to help others, of course this also had to be qualified "with reasonable boundaries where you are not helping people out and stress yourself out trying to solve everyone's problems".
Okay so he may have a point. Because as I look back on the month of November and the amount of time I spent in ridiculous self-reflection- to clarify this means that instead of interacting with co-workers or doing my job very well, I spent the majority of the day writing repetitious thought processes down in my journal trying to figure out how I had come to the place I was in and what was right or wrong about it and what it would mean for the person I was becoming. All in good balance, this is what I need to be told. Stop fixating, start living. So I will try. Try to stop focusing on the inner workings of me because its not helping; stop worrying when I don't immediately get a response and instead use my time wisely, stepping back from the electronic devises :)
Tomorrow I will go back to my new job and begin training. I am going to get excited about this.

Call me a clown
Today I feel like a juggler with ten balls high in the air. I know it is a matter of time before something outside of the game calls my attention and I drop everything but I keep going despite of that. I am rereading "Real Sex" by Lauren Winner and trying to journal immediately following. Taking it in very small doses as I wrestle with how Christian I feel at the moment. It is a welcome and sensible relief to the painful 'Don't kiss frogs' book or whatever the title is that really made me scream each time I put it down. (while good intentioned he has no touch with reality whatsoever and I see no evidence that he even bothered to talk to his three daughters or wife about the project so that's interesting)
I have been thinking about Mir's comments:
What is the end goal? Is it to have a healthy relationship? Is it to feel good about yourself? Is it to have fun?
and know that it is time to reevaluate what I want from life. What things I am willing to settle for and what things I want to wait for. Most importantly for me, I want to rediscover what it is like to live for something greater than myself because so much of the emotion anguish I feel and the trouble I cause for myself is due to extreme selfishness. I don't know if it is a backlash from trying to be there for others for so long or what but I have decided that what I am doing- choosing me all the time is selfish and immature. It feels great, don't get me wrong... and honestly I don't know how long I can really hold onto this position but I would at least like to try and be making efforts towards something better. Something that won't rely on me less than expert juggling skills that lead me into trapped and messy alley ways.
Last night I went out with a guy and we saw j. edgar hoover. The movie was great. We talked about it for a while afterward and overall it was a nice night. What shocked me was afterward, when, the minute I got into the car I broke down into tears and had to repeatedly tell myself to just start driving and get out of there. I was mess and I honestly don't know what it was that brought on such a strong emotion. Or maybe I do and don't want to admit it yet...

what was i thinking?
how many times do i ask myself that after going through with whatever crazy plan i have?
i am on the search for peace and clarity but so much of the time it feels as though i create chaos for myself instead. had a long talk with a friend this weekend about how so much has changed. how morals and standards and feeling guilty or not seems to have shifted. in fact the more i open up to other people i find that they are of the same opinion, that following through with actions that they would have previously thought to be reprehensible did not leave them with feelings of self hatred or a sinners complex. (smiling to myself)
so maybe this is something we should talk about ... because once a person has this self revelation how many other matters will they question after having put up boundaries and defined conscience.
how do we redefine everything when it feels right and is so fun?

May 9- back logged
This month has become the beginning of a slow and steady recovery process. I read a book called "The Healing of Sexual Addiction" and it was absolutely terrifying. What I discovered was how much of my own though processed resembled that of extreme addicts. It's certainly not what I would have ever thought of for myself.
June 20
Began a 90 day sobriety, as instructed by the book. Found that I did not make time to actually reflect and re-read and fill my newly found time with positive changes. 40 days in I decided I did really well, and stopped.

April 14-
I prayed something this weekend out of anger and experienced an answer instantaneously.
Thinking too much about married friends, babies and life that has not happened to me I had had enough. I asked God why I desired these things if they were determined to stay out of reach for me. Why I would yearn to wholeheartedly for something that didn't want to come?
God make it go away.
And it did.
I don't understand moments like that. I tell you, that at the start of last weekend I wanted nothing more than to be fully committed to someone and to think of starting a family. And then my desire was gone, completely gone.
I spent the rest of the weekend crying trying to figure out what had happened. What could this mean? It opened up a lot more questions like what am I living for? What have I been spending all my time doing?

on the night i told myself i was going to bed early
so there is this issue that i have been dealing with for a long time and i think i have watched it spiral slowly into more and more issues, ones that will leave lasting effects but i don't know what to do.
you see i thought i knew what i wanted in life and i thought i knew who i was
i thought i would be asked out, develop great self confidence and get a degree, find a job i loved and never experienced stress in. that my best friend and i would love down the street from each other and raise our families near each other and that my family would get together every weekend to share a meal just like my mom's family.
i thought i would grow out of childish crushes that turned into fantasies, that turned into insecurities and experimentation
i thought i could control my desires to be wanted and fulfill my own needs because my desire for long term happiness would win out
right now, i am sitting on my bed with the computer i told myself i would never bring home again regretting a night full of bad choices to fulfill a selfish need that will grow all the more hungry tomorrow
what does purity look like? why do we value it? how can i reach a goal of purity when it is completely unattainable to every imperfect being?
why do i beat myself up after giving in to something i have literally spent hours preparing for? reading books on sexual addiction only to use them as excuses for why i cannot get away, giving myself excuses for choosing inappropriately and selfishly. i have refused to take blame for my actions, believed that it was everyone's fault: because they didn't respond to a text, because i am moving and am stressed, because i got through a hard weekend supporting a friend who, it seems, is in a place of happiness that i have been trying to achieve.
purity for me feels dirty, it feels like something i now cringe from because i have chosen to make it an impossible task. what would it look like to choose to refocus my thoughts constantly and refuse any other option but to change? why can it never be as logical when you're in the moment and how in the world do you find the strength to get through it?
is purity preparation? a recognition that one would fail and making it impossible to get through safe guards? would i be able to stop myself in the end?
"when you know what you want then you go and you find it and you get." do I want to change or not?
"and you give and you take and you bid and you bargain or you live to regret it"
regret it? well yes of course every time i imagine the face of the fool on the other end looking desperately, like me, for a release from reality and from the fears that keep me cooped up inside. regret it? yes when i think of the fact that i am not the person i would want to let me friends know i am being and struggle, endlessly struggle with why of all the things in the world that i would be paired with, is an unquenchable desire for lust
i have ignored their advice, their desire to help and proactively communicate, i hate each one of them who wants me to tell them exactly what i did and how i feel and why i did it
and that's when i start to cry thinking about how i do not deserve the love each one of them is showing me, and i wish that it was enough to make me stop mid-mouse-click and just go to bed early

Living in Tension
Delayed Gratification
There is something that I want that I can't have.
When we are toddlers we scream uncontrollably for it.
When we are kindergarten age we whine and beg for it.
When we are in middle school we bargain for it.
When we are in high school we reason for it.
When we are in college maybe we pretend there are no restrictions and get it, for ‘the experience’.
Now at twenty-four I find myself coming full-circle, back to the beginning and trying any and every method to rationalize getting what I want when I want it. I am so good at convincing myself that I deserve it. Now that I recognize this behavior in myself I want to challenge it and resist it with a full understanding.
It: whether it’s food, toys, cars, sex, it's the thing that keeps you occupied and out of focus.
If you have made the decision to abstain from sex, you know what it is like to deal with the reality of that decision. And sometimes, like any other thing that we want that we can’t have immediately we try to think of ways to rationalize getting it. For many people, it makes sense logically as well as morally to wait, to cut down on the number of partners, maybe even to just one. In the words of Holly Holiday from Glee Season 2, "when you have sex with someone, you're having sex with everyone they've had sex with and everybody's got a random." And this doesn’t even begin to cover the emotional ties that can come along with different partners. As adults, we all understand the physical and emotional risks of sex with multiple partners but this doesn’t solve the problem of desire. Even though you have made the decision to abstain, you may still really want to have sex. In this posting I am trying to work through the quagmire of issues that arise when you are abstinent and have the desire to have sex. It is only normal to want to have sex, it is the most amazing and complete way to be close to somebody and many times abstinence can feel lonely. So, what I do when I want things I can’t have is I look for ways to justify getting it. I see it like a cycle:
My mom talks through her spirituality as though it is a constant battle, one we must be prepared for and fight daily. What a perfect weapon Satan has then, placing little wants and needs in our way; we become consumed with little things and forget everything else. Some people would call them idols, others addictions, others luxuries we are meant to simply enjoy and stop thinking about.
I want so many things, and I can argue that in a lot of cases, God desires to bless us although perhaps not as materialistically as we may want. But what about wanting and needing and obsessing and (dare I say) blowing things out of proportion over IT?
Sex is unbelievably powerful, especially in our culture. It sells. It is the driving force in selling the movies, t.v. shows, magazines, clothing, cars, bottles of water, phones and anything else we look to. It is something we may grow to desire strongly without even being aware that is important to us. Why? Because it has the power to blind us just as much as the objects that it sells; for many of us, the simple fact that it is something out of reach, it is our “forbidden fruit”. It is the thing that will drive us to get it no matter what the consequences long or short-term. But to what end?
So we have sex. Now we need more. And things become more complicated. Many of us are not prepared to deal with the consequences of having sex, for some it is a struggle even inside marriage. Who do we look to for guidance? My dad's favorite quote from the bible, "there's nothing new under the sun". We are certainly not the first to face difficult desires and to be confronted with our temptations. Perhaps we should begin searching out how others have dealt with the same issues, or even begin talking to your community. Letting your struggles out into the open. And I know that these is easier said then done. We all care to some extent what others will think of us and to admit such personal desires, we can feel as though we are giving ammunition to others. They will know us so well. Yes, that's certainly true, but I am no longer convinced that hiding is going to make a deep seeded problem go away.
I think we need to come to terms with the fact that we are spoiled and are needs have the ability to be immediately met at the 7/11 down the road, cellphones in hands, and credit cards in our pockets. Our need to wait is minimized by the westernized lives we lead. We have no tolerance for waiting because patience is no longer a virtue but a weakness. Perhaps if we learned to be disciplined with other things like working out, eating right, reading scripture, staying away from facebook when you need to write a paper, then we could learn the importance of living in tension with our wants and learning to distinguish a want from a need.
This is the lesson I learned from a friend, that our lives have the ability to provide a glimpse into eternity. That through accepting the tensions we face daily, we are reminded of our need for a Savior and the eternity that we are created for. Trapped in mortal bodies we are living in tension yearning for something greater, but in our waiting we find who we are in Christ.
I love this idea, I love the message it reminds me of whenever I feel weak against IT, how fleeting my desires are in comparison to a stronger need for communion with the Father.
For those of us who have chosen to abstain from having sex we need to turn away from the pressure to view patience as a weakness and to learn to ‘work-out’ our patience the same way we work out to keep our bodies in shape. I haven’t come to any solid conclusions today, but I’d love some feedback from anyone who can contribute their own personal ideas.

Learning
I am starting to enjoy sunrises. It is something I never thought much about but rising with the sun this morning was glorious and invigorating. The still beauty of the rising day quietly calls your attention and reminds you that life is meant to be enjoyed.
The beginning of a new day has always symbolized a fresh start, a beautiful rebirth and a chance for do-overs. I am reminded of the serenity prayer:
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

What the Bible really says ... according to Coogan
What do I think?
I think that women and men have a lot of re-thinking to do.
What the book says is that women were their fathers/husbands property. Woman's value rested on her sexual purity and obedience to her male overlord. They could be involved in religious ceremonies and occasionally hold political roles but as much as possible there appears to be a trend in steering away from valuing women in such circles.
I think that I am worried about the influence that historical understanding has had in our understanding of relationships with one another and with God.
I think I cannot figure out how to live in harmony with what is written and how I feel as a woman.
What do we accept unconditionally as truth being Christian? What do we do with the rest of the information? How do we put value into the non-essentials, balancing biblical truths with intelligence and morality in our western twenty first century mindsets?
This author says a lot of painful facts about ancient cultures; about the level of value and importance of women in society. I was hurt by a lot of what he said because I have accepted Christianity and grew up recognizing that the bible was divinely inspired. Of course there are a lot of questions to ask about the books written that were or were not included in the printed text we read today, how do we trust what we have been presented? And what are we meant to take away from baffling old and new testament texts that place little importance and significance on women?
This is something I want to talk through with others, please let me know your thoughts!

Recapping
So my L'abri weekend yielded some mixed results. I was excited to talk through my project. The woman I spoke with came up with some great books and lectures to look through. The first book I looked through was by Wesley Hill author of "Washed and Waiting". I have included his blog here in case you are interested in checking him:
http://wesleyhill.tumblr.com/
His story of learning to accept his sexual orientation and stay true to his Christian faith was eye opening. And I would recommend reading through it regardless of your sexual preference. Like the other books I have been reading through I have become emotionally invested. Thankfully this time I was not full of anger and the book did not fly across the room. Instead I identified a lot with his loneliness and fears.
Wow, what a great reminder that there are other people struggling with their life. I feel like it is just too easy to get caught up in thinking you are alone, thinking you are the only person who deals with trying to figure out the troubles of life.
I brought my reading at the lunch table on Saturday (sometimes meals are focused around one topic) and we openly discussed his book. Honestly I feel like I could write a couple blog entries on the meal alone but I will hit some highlights for now.
*Theology of body- recognizing that Christians for a long time separated their physical and spiritual selves. They did not think that our physical bodies really needed to be cared for and instead focused all their energy on their eternal selves. Maybe you aren't familiar with these ideas but there are some problems I can see with this sort of thought process. It downplays the importance of what we do and it removes responsibility from caring for ourselves- from feeding ourselves, to working out, to who we sleep with. Recognizing that we matter is important, I don't know how to stress that to the average individual who gets caught up in the moment and forgets that as Christians we are living members of the kingdom of God now... not later and so it's important now.
*The word "pure" is dangerous- as one woman at the table put it, "I know some very dirty and imaginative virgins, how can we label them pure? No one deserves that title, no one can live up to that title.
*Single- Being single is a vocation, one that is undervalued. Being single is not just a transitional state between childhood and marriage. The leader of the discussion asked us how many times we had been invited home for lunch after church. Everyone shook their heads 'no'. Then she asked how many times we had done it for someone else in the congregation... oh right, we are not off the hook because we are single and have roommates or don't have a lot to offer. We need to own our lives, got to remember that.
I got super sick while I was at L'abri. I don't know if it is was stress, new environment, chance to escape normal life and work or the flu but it left me pathetically stuck in bed instead of ready to interact with the very full house. Alas, I have to plan a couple day trips to continue reading and listening to lectures but I was inspired by the reception as I was given and by the size of the library.

Weekend Away
I am heading out of town this weekend to L'Abri with the expectation to take advantage of whatever opportunity presents itself. I bring my trusty notebook and current reading (God and Sex) with me.
Found this lovely quote by one of my favorite American ladies and thought I would share it and remind you all of the important roles women can have.
If we mean to have heroes, statesmen and philosophers, we should have learned women.

How do we come to terms with some troublesome things
Sometimes I worry when I read the bible because honestly, it feels like the more I know the less I understand or like. I know that we are reading works that were written by men and that we are looking through a different historic lens and cultural lens but when these ways of thinking and passages are used to in a way that promotes inequality and wrongful treatment of others than there is a huge issue!
How many books are written about women in the bible?
How many female authors for the bible are there?
Why is it that female's names are hardly included even when the hold prestigious roles within the budding church?
I don't know how to go about answering these questions and I don't think that answers are all that encouraging. Yes ancient Israel was a patriarchal society and to a great extent we still are today but is that how it should be?
I have a friend who works for an organization who encourages equality within the bible.
"Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE) is a nonprofit organization of Christian men and women who believe that the Bible, properly interpreted, teaches the fundamental equality of men and women of all ethnic groups, all economic classes, and all age groups, based on the teachings of Scriptures such as Galatians 3:28"

I think it is time to educate myself :)
surprising
to know
to lie
to come to
feet
flesh
hand * meant specifically for males
naked
to eat * used when talking about adultery
to laugh
This author says that each of these words/phrases in within specific bible passages are used as sexual innuendos. Some obviously more direct than others but something to consider. We of course should not be limited to one understanding of a verse and I don't think we are meant to read sex into everything but we also should not be too quite to exclude it from our thoughts. I guess that is what I would like to bring up, the idea that sex is an okay topic. Yes of course we see it in Song of Solomon but here Coogan is reminding us that sex was actively on the minds of the ancient cultures as well... just like it is in our culture today, even if we don't talk about it.
It's time to talk, time to just explore what is already on everyone's mind.

God and Sex
Part of what fills my time these days is what I call "research". When you tell someone you have assigned yourself the task of creating an anthology on western christian perspectives of purity, relationships and sexuality there are a couple different reactions. The one I have the hardest time overcoming my own feelings of inadequacies. I am not a theologian and outside of having grown up in a christian household, I have only my experience to recommend me. That being said, I am still actively trying to educate myself and not let my self confidence hinder the importance of this project.
The first book I dived into was Joshua Harris' I Kissed Dating Goodbye. This book, I would put under the category of teenage guide to dating and proper guy/girl conduct. Perhaps my personal review of the book will follow but for right now my notes are scribbled safely away in the notebook entitled BOOK OF PURITY.
Next, I read John and Stasi Eldredge's Captivating. This book dealt more with our roles as woman to embrace the calling of being divinely female... Oh dear.
Today I started God and Sex: what the bible really says by Michael Coogan.This book begins with making clear that the bible is full of contradictions showing humanity at its finest. He finishes the introduction saying that it is the duty of biblical scholars to share their findings; specifically here, how the bible is full of sex. Bring it!I would like to share my observations as I read for this book because I feel as though it is going to get VERY interesting. Please feel free to comment I would love to start dialoging with others on these topics.
To start us off:
Many of you may be familiar with the biblical idiom of "knowing a person" that is, in bed. Well how about "eating" as a euphemism for sex (*prov 30:30)? I don't think I ever heard that talked about it bible study.

Valentine Awareness
Yesterday was Valentines Day.
It is my twenty fourth Valentines Celebration without a male Valentine.
The day was more perfect than I could have imagined. For the first time in what feels like an eternity, the sun came out and hugged me as I walked to the beach with a friend. I watched the ice melt drop by drop off the sides of huge rocks into small little icy pools next to the roaring ocean and felt content. The sound of the sea calms me down in almost any situation because it is faithful and steady. It is also terrifying and powerful, the heavy markings on the rocks I walked across showed me how the water pushed its way stubbornly to where it wanted to be. I could make a cliche analogy about my own stubbornness and its ability to make indents in lives around me for better or worse, buts let's just skip it.
I felt peaceful thinking about life until my worries were carried away with the tide. That is when my friend asked if we could pray. She talked about how God loved me like a father and I thought cynically to myself that I already had had enough fathering and was looking for something new, something more. As if on cue she reminded me of the image of the potter working ever so delicately on each on of His pots. And how its unfair for one pot to look at the other and compare its progress because the intricacies of one are not meant to be the same as another. Some pots spin round on the wheel being perfected, being mashed and restarted, and then are fired again and again. Some pots take longer to create.
A certain person was tired of hearing about pots and found herself close tears realizing how much she compared herself to others. And how the story made her sure of her own fate as a single for another year. It was melodramatic and all I managed to do was look ahead straight into the sea and take deep breathes. Because I wasn't sure it was fair.

On purpose
I grew up an evangelical Christian in Connecticut. I attended a christian college which I now work for promoting history and education through interactive theater. Having grown up a rich christian environment and been immersed in conservative viewpoints on becoming a Godly woman I feel particularly drawn to issues concerning feminism and purity discussions. These real and present issues are inescapable and are extremely important.
I have read books on purity, studied the Bible at church and in school, and actively participating in my church. Now, as a post graduate, I have joined an Episcopal church and attend regularly. I am thankful for my upbringing and feel as though I have found a balance between western protestant faith and tradition. It is in this setting that I began to think critically about what literature and sources were made available to me on issues which greatly affected my everyday life.
I am beginning the process of assembling materials and opinions from women and hope to share their experiences within the western evangelical framework on purity, sexuality and relationships. I truly believe that these are important topics that should be thought through and talked about regularly and I truly hope you choose to participate.
I believe that God has given us all passions, reasons to live. In my everyday life I strive to figure out why I was created and what the point of living is. I certainly do not claim to have found the answer for you and do not honestly know that I can fully answer for myself. What I do know if that my experience is valuable, just as yours is. And what I have been gifted at is administration. I can organize practically anything and orchestrate all sorts of chaos into some semblance of order and grace. It is with this attitude that I want to approach this blog where I hope to have a growing collection of life stories about women and make them accessible to women.
My name is Lizzie. I am creating this blog for you. The motivation behind my writing is to provide an online resource for people interested in dialoging about Christian femininity, purity, relationships and sexuality. As the facilitator, I hope to provide a challenging list of questions, articles and a support system for you to explore as you journey through life.
